Enhance curb appeal. I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference curb appeal makes. One of our property owners didn’t think it mattered, and their house sat empty for weeks. After we added fresh paint, replaced the mailbox, and cleaned up the landscaping, we had multiple applications the next week. It was the same house, but it looked different from the street. First impressions matter more than most people realize.

Highlight Charleston’s unique charm. Charleston has a very distinct look and feel. It’s historic, coastal, and warm, and using that to your advantage can make your property stand out. Think about design elements like shutters, Green Lantern-style lighting, or even a pastel-colored door that really pops. Tenants are looking for that subtle Southern charm, and these small touches go a long way.

Upgrade landscaping and lighting. Keep landscaping simple and seasonal with native plants like palmettos and azaleas, a clean lawn with mulch or pine straw, and a few potted ferns. Lighting, walkways, and house numbers matter as well. Good lighting not only enhances security but also creates a warm welcome for residents.
